The mission of Dallas Theological Seminary is to
glorify God by equipping godly servant-leaders
for the proclamation of His Word and the
building up of the body of Christ worldwide.
I am retired due to disability from multiple sclerosis after fifteen years of pastoral ministry at churches in California, Connecticut, and Missouri. I currently serve as an elder, adult Sunday School teacher, and theology small-group leader at Rancho Baptist Church in Temecula, CA. Some of my fondest memories from my Seminary days include Jane Roundy, the "mother" to single students and manager of the dorms; discussions in the halls of Lincoln; ping pong at Lincoln; lunchtime speed chess at Maintenance; and all my teachers whose enthusiasm and dedication to Bible study, preaching, and teaching inspired me including Prof Hendricks, Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost, Dr. Ryrie, Dr. Toussaint, and Dr. Seume. I met and married Geneva Lynn Smith, who was the secretary to Tim Wright, the Seminary treasurer, while at DTS. She was and continues to be an amazing woman and my partner in ministry. I definitely "married up"! I received the most amazing preparation for ministry anyone could receive. May I say that the prestige that DTS confers on its graduates is humbling? It is a huge blessing and privilege to have been challenged and equipped by the professors and instructors at DTS! Their enthusiasm for Bible study, the value of original language study, proper and accurate doctrine and true truth, and a growing relationship with and dependence on our heavenly Father only begin to scratch the surface of all that was modeled for me and taught to me at DTS.
