The mission of Dallas Theological Seminary is to
glorify God by equipping godly servant-leaders
for the proclamation of His Word and the
building up of the body of Christ worldwide.
My fondest memory of my days at the Seminary was being able to go to the third floor of Walvoord Student Center to visit my mom, Beverly Lucas (MA/CE 98), who worked in Student Services for many years. Both of my parents attended DTS, so it is great to be able to discuss theology and Christianity with a common understanding.
I love people who serve the Lord. So for me, the greatest thing about being at the Seminary was being exposed to so many different servants from so many different backgrounds and cultures. For one who was coming out of legalism at the time, it was refreshing to see grace and acceptance being modeled by both students and professors. It had a profound impact on my life and opened me up to the greater work that God was and is doing in the world.
After 18 years of pastoral ministry Steve resigned last October to start The Brook Ministries. The Brook is a pastoral training and retreat center in the Central Valley of Costa Rica. Their vision is to refresh and equip pastors throughout the Americas. Steve serves as the president of the ministry, a nonprofit charity.
