Admissions

The professional M.A. degree programs are earned in either two or three years. The programs provide graduate-level, biblically and theologically focused education for those entering into a wide range of Christian ministry.

Six Programs

Biblical Counseling (MA/BC)

The MA/BC program prepares men and women to engage in church, institutional, or private counseling practices from a thoroughly biblical perspective. Meeting the program requirements enables a student to apply to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors for licensure and complete the state’s post-graduate licensure requirements, including additional internship hours and a state licensing examination.

Christian Education (MA/CE)

The MA/CE program provides biblical and theological education for those anticipating a vocations as ministers of Christian education, children’s workers, ministers of youth, parachurch youth leaders, ministers of adults, directors of family life education, administrators or teachers in Christian higher education, Christian school teachers and administrators, or women’s ministry leaders.

Media Arts and Worship (MA/MW)

The Media Arts and Worship program trains ministers who want to integrate a sound biblical and theological education with training in the media arts. The program, which assumes the student has some training or experience in the arts, enhances the ministries of worship leaders, writers, and other media practitioners.

Biblical Exegesis and Linguistics (MA/BEL)

The MA/BEL program, which provides instruction in Bible translation, is designed for missionary recruits, furloughing and in-service missionaries, and translation support personnel. Offered jointly with the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics (GIAL), the program fulfills the minimum requirements for the first term of service with Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Cross-Cultural Ministries (MA/CM)

The MA/CM program provides training for prospective and veteran missionaries whose ministries include serving in other cultures. It meets the essential academic requirements of most mission agencies and is ideal for those whose anticipated ministries will not include regular preaching.

Christian Leadership (MA/CL)

The world is changing. Be a leader for this generation and the next. From the church to the marketplace the MA/CL gives you the leadership tools to adapt to diverse situations.

The mission of Dallas Theological Seminary is to glorify God by equipping godly servant-leaders for the proclamation of His Word and the building up of the body of Christ worldwide.

Help train the next generation of godly servant leaders by breaking down financial barriers.
