Done That Yet?
Student Mailbox
All students are required to maintain a campus mailbox. Entering students will be assigned a mailbox. Important information is regularly distributed through campus mailboxes.
Student ID
A student photo ID is necessary in order to use the library, Baylor Fitness Center, and certain other campus facilities. Students and students’ spouses must go to the Academic Advising Office (2nd Floor, Walvoord Student Center) to obtain a photo ID.
Baylor Fitness Center
All students enrolled in six hours per semester are automatically members of the Baylor Fitness Center. To activate this new membership a student must return an enrollment form to the Baylor Center and present to the Baylor Center a valid DTS ID. This MUST be done during the first two weeks of school. During this enrollment period, students taking fewer than six hours per semester and students’ spouses may elect to have a Baylor Fitness Center membership. Those individuals must first pay an activity fee ($55) at the DTS Business Office (3rd Floor, Davidson Hall) before following the above procedure for activating a new membership. No new memberships for the semester will be accepted after the first two weeks of school. Don’t miss out on this exceptional opportunity.
Parking Permit
Although there is no fee for a parking permit, students must have one in order to use campus parking. Each student vehicle (including summer-only students) must be registered annually with the Seminary and have a current parking permit attached to the front window (or rear fender if a motorcycle). Parking permits are issued by the Campus Police (located in the police kiosk) and can be obtained by registering your vehicle on CampusNet at the beginning of each semester. Vehicles on campus without parking permits are subject to being ticketed at owner’s expense. Students who ride bicycles to and from school or keep a bicycle on campus are required to register those as well. Students are not permitted to park in fire lanes, delivery zones, visitor spaces, or lots set aside for faculty, staff, and campus residents. (See Campus Map for parking.) Fines will be issued for failure to comply with parking regulations.
Kerygma
The Kerygma is the official campus publication for informing the student body of announcements, notices, and deadlines. The Kerygma is distributed in electronic form through the student’s personal email account each week. Students are responsible to be aware of information published in the Kerygma. Please take time at the beginning of each semester to update your email account on your Campusnet or through the Academic Advising Center. The current edition of Kerygma can also be found on the Student Resource Page.
Inclement Weather/Closing
Occasionally during the winter months, inclement weather such as snow and/or ice makes road conditions dangerous for travel. During such times, the Seminary may be closed. An announcement from DTS will be broadcast over major television and radio stations and posted on the DTS website.
