Orientation Activities

DTS welcomes the entering class of Fall 2008 by inviting you to participate in the activities of Entering Student Orientation! This will be an important time where you take your first step in becoming acquainted with seminary life and transition to being here on our campus. We have included a brief overview of the Orientation activities below. (Note: you should have already received an email containing this information. If you have not received it, please contact DTS Admissions at 1-800-DTS-WORD or 214-841-3661).

Entering Student Orientation

Thursday, August 21, 2008, 8:00 A.M.–4:00 P.M. - We have designed this one day orientation to give you an overview of seminary life and the resources available to assist you. Breakfast and lunch will be included. Spouses are invited. Limited childcare will be provided with a reservation.

All entering students (with the exception of Nondegree, CGS, PhD, DMin, and Online-Only Students) will be required to take the MMPI-2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2) on August 22. No RSVP required.

A limited number of makeup dates will be announced in the Kerygma for students who have evening-only and/or weekend-only classes and for those with work conflicts. If a student does not attend any of the makeup dates, it is the student's responsibility to seek an outside testing service (at the student's own expense - minimum $100) to take the MMPI-2.For more information: Student Services Office 1-800-DTS-WORD x3789; Dallas Local Number - (214) 841-3789.
*The MMPI is the only test you must take when we offer it. The other assessments and deadlines can be found online on your campusnet under "News and Information." In the bulleted list there you will find a checklist of requirements for new entering students.

Welcome Luncheon for Entering Women Students

Friday, August 22, 11:30 A.M.–1:00 P.M. - The women students at DTS are sponsoring a luncheon for entering women students to get acquainted with each other and to find out about involvement opportunities available for women here at DTS.
