Opportunities for Alumni

Continuing Education

Several continuing education opportunities exist for Dallas alumni. Which option you choose will depend on several factors, such as time commitment, financial issues, future degree plans, and others. The following descriptions attempt to clarify which program might best fit certain situations:

Are you looking for a "refresher" studies program of one or two classes at a time as your schedule allows?

There are three opportunities available to alumni who have earned a DTS degree.
  • The Online Alumni Audit option. You can audit one of our online courses for a flat fee of $50 per course. The online courses run on the same semester calendar as the regular courses. Course work need not be completed and no grades are given.  Contact the Registrar’s Office to sign up.
  • The Alumni Credit option. You can enroll as a regular student in any of the master’s-level courses offered at the Seminary. There is a special reduced tuition rate for alumni. You will also be charge the General Fee and the Technology Fee. Course work is required, exams are taken, and grades will be recorded on your transcript. However, if you want to apply these courses towards another degree at Dallas Seminary, you will need to pay the difference between the reduced rate and the regular tuition rate. Since these courses are transcripted, other schools may accept them as transfer credit.
If you are interested in pursing another degree at DTS, you will need to apply through the Admissions Office.

You can reach the Registrar's Office by phone at 800-DTS-WORD ext. 3608 and by email at registrar@dts.edu.

Or are you looking for a study and restoration program while you are on sabbatical or furlough?

The Alumni-in-Residence program allows alumni with a three-year minimum of full-time ministry experience after graduation to return to campus as nondegree students for a tuition-free semester of study.  This program is primarily intended for those alumni who are on sabbatical or furlough, and are looking for refreshment through further study.  It allows for one semester of study, up to 16 semester hours, without having to apply for and enroll in an advanced-degree program.  If taken for credit, the courses cannot be applied to any degree program at the Seminary but may be transferable to other graduate institutions.
