Where will my class meet?

How much are the textbooks?
CBS textbooks are less than $25 per course.
Does CBS require homework?
Students may attend courses in one of three ways:
- Audit students may attend their course at their leisure. Homework is optional.
- Certificate-ONLY (CEU credit) students MUST attend 80% of the course sessions. Homework is optional.
- Diploma Students MUST attend 80% of the course sessions and earn a “C” or better on assignments in the course’s syllabus.
CBS instructors will keep homework load between 1 to 2 hours for every course hour or CEU per week.
Will I receive confirmation that you received my registration form and payment?
Online registrations receive an automated e-mail confirming your registration. Otherwise, please call the CBS office (214-841-3779) for confirmation.
Will tests be given?
Course instructors administer assessments, e.g. quizzes, tests, and exams, at their discretion.
What is a Continuing Education Unit (CEU)?
A CEU is a nationally recognized standard of measurement, encouraging adults to pursue their educational or professional goals. Many CBS students acquire these units to improve professional competence or to continue their personal growth. The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) requires that its teachers take continuing education courses to retain their ACSI certification.
Will the CEU credits transfer into a college or DTS degree program?
Most colleges and DTS accept coursework from an accredited institution. CBS is a non-accredited continuing education program for lay-leaders in the church. However, many mission agencies recognize CBS training to satisfy their requirements for theological education.
If I take CBS classes for CEU credit now but decide later to be in the diploma program, will the classes I have taken transfer into the program?
CBS will accept any work toward the CBS Diploma that meets the Diploma requirements: 1) a "C" grade or better; 2) 80% attendance; and, 3) any other stipulation of the course syllabus. Students may re-enroll in any course for $25; they may re-take any course as many times as they choose.
Why would I want to work toward a diploma?
Students who complete the CBS Diploma program have established a fundamental educational foundation in Bible, theology, and ministry skills for personal growth and lay-leadership in their local church or para-church service.
