Session 1: The Theological Perspective of Sacred Sexuality

Dr. Gary Barnes

Dr. Barnes serves as an Associate Professor of Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. He is an ordained minister and a licensed psychologist, specializing in marriage and family research, counseling, and training. After graduating from Dallas Seminary, Gary served as an assistant pastor for seven years and then earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Columbia University. While in New York, he was a research project coordinator at NYU Medical Center's Family Studies Clinic and later completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology through Parkland Hospital (Dallas) and the Child Guidance Clinics. Gary is a member of the American Psychological Association, the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, the Christian Association of Psychological Studies, and the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists.

Session 2: The Sexually Healthy Church

Dr. Doug Rosenau

Dr. Rosenau, is a licensed psychologist, marriage and family therapist, and Diplomate of the American Board of Sexology (ABS). A pioneer in Christian sex therapy, Dr. Rosenau is author of the bestselling book, A Celebration of Sex and A Celebration of Sex for Newlyweds; he also co-authored A Celebration of Sex after 50 along with the recently released Soul Virgins: Redefining Single Sexuality. Doug is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.) and received his doctorate in counseling (Ed.D.) from Northern Illinois University. He teaches human sexuality and sex therapy as a popular conference speaker and as an adjunct professor at Psychological Studies Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. As co-founder of the Christian organization Sexual Wholeness (sexualwholeness.com), Doug has helped to create the Institute for Sexual Wholeness that trains Christian sex therapist and educators.
