Confident Ministry Amidst Cultural Chaos – A Worldview Approach
The core issue in understanding and relating to our current culture is the concept of Worldview. A distinct worldview underlies every cultural form, and our personal worldview determines the degree to which we surrender ourselves to any culture. Effective ministry today requires an understanding of the three competing worldviews struggling for dominance. During this conference, Dr. J.P. Moreland* will:
- Expose the current worldview struggle and nature of secularism
- Demonstrate how worldview preaching can help people overcome cultural tensions which keep them from growing
- Explain and evaluate Post-modernism
- Teach us how to build a case for faith in the contemporary setting
- Sharpen our ability to minister within secularism
Session One: Worldview Struggle in our Secular Setting—This session explains the nature of secularism and how we got to such a secular culture, and explains the main tensions among the three chief worldviews in current conflict.
Session Two: Post-Modernism as a Worldview—Part One - This explains postmodernism as a set of ideas and offers an evaluation of a postmodernist worldview and a Christian appropriation of it.
Session Three: Post-Modernism as a Worldview—Part Two
Session Four: Worldview Integration and Worldview Preaching—This session identifies the tensions that keep people from growing that result from the secular culture and explains how worldview preaching helps resolve these.
