Hosted by the World Missions Department, this fun and relaxing canoe trip is open to all DTS students (and their friends and family members). We will carpool from DTS to Glen Rose, Texas on April 17, and spend the day floating down the Brazos – with a rest stop for lunch. Cost: $27 per canoe (will carry two adults and two kids) plus the cost of food you bring. Minors must be accompanied by a parent. Event: Connections and Conversations: Exploring Life Together as Ministry Wives

This unique retreat, held at Pine Cove Camp in the beautiful woods of Tyler, Texas, is designed to encourage, refresh, and equip wives of men in vocational ministry. Keynote speaker, Suzie Hawkins, will be joined by our own Dr. Sue Edwards who will be presenting a workshop titled, "Leading Women Who Wound.” This is an opportunity for you to give your wife, yourself, or a ministry wife that you know the chance to get away from the chaos of the everyday! For only $160, the ministry wife will receive accommodations for two nights, all meals, retreat materials, an optional counseling or mentoring session, and a tote bag filled with goodies. Graduation Applications for Summer 2010 graduates who are not participating in the Spring 2010 commencement ceremony are available online under Forms and Information, in CampusNet. If you plan to graduate in Summer 2010, your completed application is due April 1, 2010. You will then be eligible to participate in the Spring 2011 commencement ceremony. After April 1, 2010, graduation dates for those students with incomplete applications will be moved to a later session.

NOTE: Your graduation application is not complete until any/all church verification letters have been received.

Deadline: Stafford Loan Summer 2010 Application Deadline

The deadline for submitting a Stafford Loan application for Summer 2010 is April 1st. Required paperwork includes the 2009-2010 loan request form and the 2009-2010 FAFSA. First-time borrowers at DTS are also required to submit a Master Promissory Note. All completed paperwork must be turned in to the Financial Aid office by April 1st in order to count toward the Summer 2010 payment deadline. Students turning in their applications after the paperwork deadline are required to make alternate payment arrangements for the payment deadline. If you are interested in 12 months of intensive a cross-cultural educational experience outside the U.S. following graduation, the Church of the Pioneers Foundation will award a graduating Th.M. student $24,000 (single) or $28,000 (married) following graduation. Applicants must be committed to the pulpit ministry. Applications are available from the Pastoral Ministries Office (Todd 310) and will be accepted Feb. 1-Mar. 26.

Lebanon Baptist Encampment in Cedar Hill on March 26-28. Come ready to learn valuable ministry survival skills because this year we’re giving you some nitty gritty training and resources to set you up for a life like none other. Sessions include learning to be a pastor’s wife, handling conflict & boundaries, personal bible study, card making, nature walks and more! Report Chapel by Friday March 12, 2010. Your requirement for the period is one half of your total chapel requirement for the semester (not including WEC).
To report your chapel attendance:
• Go to https://campus.dts.edu/student
• Enter your student ID number and password. Make sure your student page is set for "Spring 2010."
• On the left-hand menu of your student information page, locate and select "Spring Chapel Attendance" which will take you to a new page.
• In the box at the bottom of the screen, simply click "No" or "Yes" to indicate whether you met your requirement.
• You will see a confirmation page when your report is received.

: WEC Academic Incentive: Earn Extra-Credit in a Class

The World Evangelism Conference (WEC) Academic Incentive gives you a chance to earn one or two extra-credit points on the final grade for a SP10 course in which you are currently enrolled. Extra credit will be awarded if you meet these conditions:
1) You attend all four days of WEC, Mar. 9-12, 8:30 am-12:30 pm (Extension students - ONLY extension students - may fulfill this by watching online.)
2) You submit a completed form and two-page response paper by Mar. 26
3) The class you choose is eligible for WEC extra credit
4) Your class professor approves your paper
5) Your final grade in the class (without WEC extra credit) is 70 or higher. To download the WEC Academic Incentive Form, Info Sheet, and Eligible Class List, go to the “Forms and Information” page on CampusNet and click “WEC Academic Incentive."
