A Constant Dripping
Know why we have dripping faucets? It’s because we push them too hard, we wear them out. Like some of us wear out our wives. On a windswept hill in an English country churchyard stands a drab, gray tombstone. The faint etchings read: “Beneath this stone, a lump of clay lies Arabella Young, who, on the twenty-fourth of May, began to hold her tongue.” Proverbs 19:13: “A foolish child is the ruin of his father, and a contentious wife is like a constant dripping.” It’s weird, but sometimes an encouraging word and a gentle touch can fix a dripping faucet.
