A Woman's War
Private Robert Shurtliff distinguished himself in the Continental Army. Wounded twice, he served over a year before it was discovered that he was in fact, Miss Deborah Sampson. Later, she received a pension and public praise for her service. Her church, though, excommunicated her for impersonating a man. “[God] made us adequate to be servants of a new covenant not based on the letter but on the Spirit, for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (2Cor. 3:6) Passionate people don’t always follow the rules. But they get the job done. Pray for discernment before you judge.
