Acting with Integrity
The most strategic weapon you could deploy in defense of your character is integrity. John Bunyan, the author of Pilgrim’s Progress, was allowed at times to leave his prison cell to preach to “unlawful assemblies” who had gathered to worship in secret – after which he returned to his jail cell, voluntarily. “Take note of the one who has integrity! Observe the godly! For the one who promotes peace has a future.” (Psalm 37:37) Acting with integrity usually costs you something. What advantage are you willing to sacrifice for the sake of your character?
