Best Left Unsaid
Our selfish Adam-like tendency is to hold onto what we have. But the words we forge in the fires of our passions are different. Words are the only things we produce that we greedily give away. It was Orson Card who said, “Among my most prized possessions are the words that I have never spoken.” Proverbs 17:28: “Even a fool who remains silent is considered wise, and the one who holds his tongue is deemed discerning.” (Proverbs 17:28) The tongue, especially when warmed in the heat of the moment, makes a good meal. Bite it often.
