Consider Your Days
I tend to be a workaholic – so I built into my home little reminders to give my wife and children priority over my work, and so please the Lord. For example I built a large window over my desk so my kids and I could climb out onto the garage roof and tell stories or just count the stars. “The days of our lives add up to seventy years, or eighty, if one is especially strong. So teach us to consider our mortality, so that we might live wisely.” (Psa. 90:10a, 12) The kids are grown now, but the window is still there, reminding me of all the stars there are left to count with my grandkids.
