Discerning Caution

Reg Grant on August 25, 2009 in DTS Devotional

We need to be discerning in learning the lessons life has to teach us. All rules are not for all times. Mark Twain said, “We should be careful to get out of an experience only the wisdom that is in it — and stop there; lest we be like the cat that sits down on a hot stove lid. She will never sit on a hot stove lid again — and that is well; but also she will never sit down on a cold one anymore.” Proverbs 14:15: “A naive person believes everything, but the shrewd person discerns his steps” (Proverbs 14:15) Ask God to help you know when to apply the rules and when to relax.
