Fixation of a Fool
Happy New Year! Well, that’s what we’d be saying if we lived prior to the sixteenth century. That’s when most of the world adopted January first as the start of the New Year rather than now. Those who insisted on continuing to celebrate the New Year’s festival climaxing on April first were called April Fools. “The way of a fool is right in his own opinion, but the one who listens to advice is wise.” (Prov. 12:15) Are you being hard-headed about something that really doesn’t matter? Just a thought: Sticking to your guns is fine unless you wind up shooting yourself in the foot.
