Held Fast Forever
We have a lot to fear in this violent world. But one thing we need never fear is the loss of our salvation in Christ. The author of Hebrews suggests the image of a harbor where our souls may securely drop anchor, and be secure. “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain, where Jesus our forerunner entered on our behalf, since he became a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 6:19, 20) Jesus Himself has carried our hope to a place where it is firmly lodged forever. Our hope is as sure as heaven is real.
