Lift Them Up
Good friends, true and lasting friends, are scarce as truth. But that doesn’t change the need for either. Ambrose Bierce, the cynical author of The Devil’s Dictionary, was born this day in 1842. Jack London said of him, “Bierce would bury his best friend with a sigh of relief, and express satisfaction that he was done with him.” The world buries its friends. We raise ours up. “A friend loves at all times, and a relative is born to help in adversity.” (Proverbs 17:17) Whenever you are tempted to love least, ask Christ to help you love best. Lift up a friend in need today.
