Look at It This Way
In John Bunyan’s allegorical poem The Holy War, the city of Mansoul is being attacked by the devil, called Prince Diabolos, and his legions. It’s a wonderful tale of spiritual warfare on a grand scale. It made me reflect on a quote I read by Dr. James Dobson. He said, “We surrender our peace of mind over relatively minor things.” It doesn’t take much of an assault, does it, to send us into a funk? “For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace …” (Romans 8:6a) Surrender your passions to the Lord, and he will bless your soul with peace.
