Love Them Just Because
I loved being around my dad, even though it would be difficult to imagine a father and son being less alike than Dad and I were. He was all business. No fooling around. Math was his thing. My middle name was play, and I hated math. And yet, I knew I didn’t have to do anything to earn his love. I didn’t have to make a certain grade. He loved me just because I was his. “Yes, sons are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” (Psa. 127:3) What can you do today to show your kids that they are more important than their grades, or any other accomplishment they will ever achieve?
