I saw my dad get angry a lot when I was a kid, at machinery, horses, and sometimes at me. I’m sure I gave him plenty of reasons. But I never saw him hold a grudge – against me, or anyone else. “Sing to the LORD, you faithful followers of his; give thanks to his holy name. For his anger lasts only a brief moment, and his good favor restores one’s life. One may experience sorrow during the night, but joy arrives in the morning.” (Psalm 30:4, 5) Hard question: Do your kids see you holding grudges? Or are they thankful that your anger is infrequent and brief?
