No Pain, No Gain
As I speak at writer’s conferences, I’m often approached by people who say they want to be writers. Most folks, however, don’t really want to write. Most want to have written. To avoid the discipline, to have the check in the mail. The same is true in the spiritual life. If we could find a shortcut to glory we’d take it. But there’s no crown without the cross. “My aim is to know him, to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, and to be like him in his death.” (Philippians 3:10) If you want the power of Christ, you must share in the pain of Christ.
