Perfect Love

Part of our high calling as parents is to help our children understand that God loves and accepts them for who they are, as they are…that He will not punish them for not being perfect. Dr. James Dobson reminds us that the greatest anxiety for an adolescent, far exceeding the fear of death, is the possibility of rejection or humiliation in the eyes of his peers. “There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.” (1 John 4:18) Think of a way to encourage your child today that God couldn’t love them any more than he loves them right now?
