Kids in Jesus’ day played games just as kids do today. Archeologists have found games and toys in abundance: whistles, rattles, toy animals on wheels, hoops and spinning tops. I love it that when God’s people are commanded to perform music, they are told to “play.” 2 Chr. 20:21: “He met with the people and appointed musicians to play before the LORD and praise his majestic splendor.” Sometimes we need a reminder to celebrate the Lord in the most basic and wonderful activities of life. Today, take some time to play to Him, play for Him and play in the power of His Spirit.
