Room to Grow
We don’t expect toddlers to behave as adults. They are only beginning to learn the rules of the game, so we make allowances. We instruct patiently. Likewise, we shouldn’t expect mature behavior from spiritual toddlers, regardless of their physical age. We can save ourselves a lot of frustration if we decide ahead of time to guide them patiently as they grow in their knowledge of the word. “Your instructions are like a doorway through which the light shines. They give insight to the untrained.” (Psalm 119:130) Give your disciples room and time enough to grow spiritually.
