Stand Up, Stand Out
The world embraces moral relativism, and self expression. Believers aren’t far behind. As recently as 2002, the Barna Research group found that only ten percent of teenagers in the U.S. believe in absolute truth. Christian parents need to counter the world by setting examples of moral excellence, a deep knowledge of God and his Word, and self-control of the passions. “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge; to knowledge, self-control.” (2 Peter 1:5, 6a) Don’t just tell your kids the absolute truth. Show them.
