Store Up Your Words
There’s a great tradition in many Japanese homes. On the second day of the year each member of the family dips a brush in ink and writes out a favorite saying on a long strip of paper. The most beautifully done Kakizome will often hang in a place of honor in the home throughout the year. This year, why not have the members of your family choose a favorite verse. Then, write it down and keep it where they can see it every day. “In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you.” (Ps. 119:11) The best preventative medicine against spiritual heart disease is the word of God.
