John Muir, the famous naturalist, learned to be content with far less than many of his wealthy acquaintances. One time he declared that he was richer than the incredibly wealthy railroad magnate E. H. Harriman. “I have all the money I want,” Muir said. “And he hasn’t.” Phil. 4:12 – “I have experienced times of need and times of abundance. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment, whether I go satisfied or hungry, have plenty or nothing.” (Phil. 4:12) Ask the Lord today to help you find true contentment in Christ and in Him alone. Anything less is idolatry.
