Local Parks and Outdoor Areas

Neighborhood Parks

White Rock Lake Park
Just four miles from DTS, this local reservoir serves as one of the city’s most popular recreation areas. White Rock lake encompasses over 1000 acres of wooded parkland and 9 miles of jogging and biking trails. Bicycle, paddleboat, kyak, and canoe rentals available.
Dallas Arboreteum
On the shores of White Rock Lake, the arboretum also contains botanical gardens combined with interactive art, walking trails.  http://www.dallasarboretum.org/index.htm
The Heard
The Heard features a Wildlife Sanctuary and Science Museum, including nature trails, eco adventures, bird watching, ropes course, and more. 1 Nature Place, McKinney. http://www.heardmuseum.org/
Cedar Ridge Preserve

Dallas Public Art

First Saturdays @ Nasher Sculpture Center

Dallas Zoo
The zoo covers 95 landscaped acres and is open every day except Christmas. With thousands of animals to visit and a huge variety of family activities, the Dallas Zoo is enormously entertaining. http://www.dallaszoo.com.

Carter Museum

Texas State Fair
