Completing Your Degree

Degree Audits

We recommend that you select and register for courses according to the curriculum chart for your degree program, based on the current catalog at the time you began your program. Courses are scheduled in such a way as to facilitate completion according to this schedule.

An additional tool that is accessible to you for course planning is the Degree Audit available on CampusNet. The degree audit is designed as a planning tool and lists all coursework completed to date as well as all remaining program, track, and concentration requirements. This same tool is used by the Registrar’s Office to verify completion of all requirements for graduation. The Academic Advising Center staff in the Registrar’s Office is available at any time to review and interpret the degree audit and remaining course requirements.

Admission to Candidacy

Candidacy is a necessary step prior to graduation in graduate-level education. You are eligible to apply for candidacy following the completion of a minimum number of credit hours or semester of program completion, depending on degree program. Please see the Student Handbook for minimum hour and graduation session criteria for each degree program. Eligibility for admission to candidacy is only possible for those students who are in good academic and disciplinary standing

In addition to academic requirements, students applying for admission to candidacy are required to affirm adherence to the following doctrines:

  • the authority and inerrancy of Scripture
  • the Trinity
  • Christ's full deity and humanity
  • the spiritual lostness of the human race
  • Christ's substitutionary atonement and bodily resurrection
  • salvation by faith alone in Christ alone
  • the physical return of Christ.

You must also secure a written statement of church involvement from the local church(es) you have attended regularly while in Seminary. Following such documentation, your application will be presented to the faculty for affirmation of Christian character and admission to candidacy for your degree program(s).

Graduation Application

Following admission to candidacy, you must apply for graduation for your degree program. Application for graduation must occur by the end of the first week of the semester of graduation. Application made after this date will result in postponement of degree conferral. Application for graduation can be made through the Registrar’s Office.
