Purpose

The Servant Leadership Internship bridges what happens in the classroom with what happens in the real world. The purpose of our field-based education program is to help you develop in these areas:

  • BEING: Christlike Character
  • KNOWING: Ministry Knowledge
  • RELATING: Relational Skills
  • DOING: Ministry Task Skills

Prerequisites

To begin an internship you must have completed Spiritual Formation 101 (small group) and declared a ministry track. If you’ve met these requirements, you are ready to begin your internship. If you have not, click on “Students” to find out how to register for SF101 or to declare a ministry track.

Time

Depending on your degree program, you will either complete 400 or 100 hours of internship work. If you must invest 400 hours, you have the option of completing the internship in one semester (about 30 hours per week) or in three consecutive semesters (about 10 hours per week). If you must complete 100 hours, you must do so in one semester (about 10 hours per week).
