Charitable Estate Planning
The Foundation provides comprehensive charitable estate planning to assist clients in carefully considering the inheritance for their family, increasing charitable gifts, and reducing income and estate taxes. The Foundation assists in plan implementation.
Asset Sale Planning
The Foundation provides planning prior to an asset sale in order to reduce income taxes, increase charitable gifts, and meet objectives for net sale proceeds and investment income.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
The Foundation assists in designing and establishing charitable remainder trusts. These trusts create a current income tax deduction, avoid capital gains taxes, and produce income for life or a term of years. Though not required, the Foundation can serve as Trustee.
Designated Asset Gifts
Gifts of stocks, bonds, divided or undivided interests in real estate, and other assets can be given to the Foundation to sell and disburse the proceeds to various ministries based on the instructions of the donor. Gifts can be made anonymously if the donor wishes.
Advised Funds
The Foundation offers Advised Funds in which the donor makes gifts, receives a current income tax deduction, and gives advice to the Foundation concerning future disbursements from the fund.
DSF Vision Fund
The Foundation offers a special type of private foundation so donors can receive a current income tax deduction and retain full legal control over disbursements to qualified Christian ministries. Contributions to this fund receive the charitable deduction treatment associated with public charity rather than the more restrictive treatment of gifts to a private foundation. The donor retains control similar to a private foundation.
Gift Annuities
In exchange for cash or other assets, such as securities, the Foundation will provide a donor with a guaranteed regular income for life. Married couples often choose to have the income continue for as long as either lives. A donor receives an income tax deduction when the annuity is funded and part of each payment is tax-free.
Scholarships
The Foundation assists in developing special scholarships designed to meet donors’ objectives. These can be currently funded each year, established as endowments, and/or funded through the donors’ estate plan.
