Letter from Dr. Bailey
Dear Friend,
These are exciting and challenging days at Dallas Theological Seminary. I mentioned in my earlier letter that more than 300 graduates received their diplomas at this year's spring Commencement.
Along with the excitement of graduation, these are days of challenge. The Seminary needs $1,368,000 in gifts by June 30 to meet our regular budgeted needs for June and finish the 2008—2009 fiscal year in solid financial shape. Special help has arrived with the $250,000 Challenge Gift I wrote to you about, which we hope that you will help us equal or exceed.
This unusually large need reflects the giving patterns and budgeting realities that are common for ministries like ours. But these are uncommon days, as we all know. Therefore, I believe it is good to remind ourselves that both the contentment and the commitment of the Christian life are not tied to budget cycles or economic indices, but to the gracious goodness of God.
Paul spoke to this in Philippians 4:11—19, saying we can be content in all circumstances and confident in God's ability to supply our needs. With this word of promise before us, I urge you to take a minute to send your generous gift to the Seminary today to help us meet our remaining financial year-end needs. Thank you for your generous reply!
Your servant in Christ,

Mark L. Bailey, Ph.D.
