WEC 2012 Event Descriptions

Monday Kickoff Night

  • WEC Kickoff Chapel is a time of corporate worship designed to introduce the audience to the conference ahead and celebrate our Redeemer. (Mabee Lounge, 7:00 p.m.)
  • International Dessert is a dessert feast as our int'l students/faculty share goodies from the home countries. (Mitchell/Café Koine, 7:45-9:15 p.m.)
  • Evening Prayer is a time to worship the Lord and ask His blessing on WEC and all those involved. (CAC 102, 9:15-9:45 p.m.)

Tuesday – Friday Daily Events

  • Prayer is a time set apart to enjoy the presence of the Lord, worship Him, and plead with Him to do a mighty work here on campus and around the world. (CAC 102, 7:10-7:50 a.m.)
  • World Focus Chapels are designed for awareness, namely to inform the audience of world issues regarding the Church, mission, and brokenness in the world. (Chafer Chapel, 8:00-8:50 a.m.)
  • Seminars are designed for equipping, namely to teach or prepare the audience to engage specific aspects of mission/ministry throughout the world. (various classrooms, 9:00-9:55 a.m.)
  • The Global Café & Expo is an opportunity for the audience to meet the exhibitors or just kick back and enjoy free coffee and snacks. (Lamb Auditorium, 10:00-10:55 a.m.)
  • The Plenary Session is a time of corporate worship (through prayer, music, scripture, preaching, etc.) that seeks to spur believers on to live out the Truth of God's word. (Chafer Chapel, 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
  • Missional Workshops are hosted by the exhibiting organizations, allowing them to either teach on a missions-related topic or help attendees get to know their organizations better. (various classrooms, 12:45-2:00 p.m., Tues.-Thurs./not Fri.)
  • Evening Prayer (CAC 102, 9:15-9:45 p.m., Tues.-Thurs./not Fri.)

Tuesday Night Only

  • Creativity Café features student music/art/poetry/media that is geared toward worship and/or has a world-focus.  All pieces are presented and/or written by students. (Mabee Lounge, 6:00-8:00 p.m.)

Wednesday Night Only

  • The Q&A Dinner is for food, fellowship, and Q&A with the Plenary Speaker.  Dinner if free and open to students, faculty, and exhibitors. (Mitchell, 6:30-8:00 p.m.)

Thursday Lunch Only

  • Women’s Luncheon is led by Women’s Student Fellowship and a time for women (either students or spouses) to enjoy fellowship, encouragement, and interaction with the Luncheon speaker. (Lamb Auditorium, 12:45-2:30 p.m.)

Thursday Night Only

  • Dinner with Professors: Join DTS professors for dinners in their homes and learn more about their own missions experiences and agencies. Professors, times and locations are to be announced.
