Advanced Standing

Dallas Theological Seminary's new Advanced Standing program lets you reduce the length of your degree by up to 1 year (or 25%). This credit is achieved through course reduction or course substitution. Course reduction is available through 1) the accelerated program for specific Dallas campus applicants (using qualifying credits from an ABHE or CCCU accredited undergraduate degree, or an approved parachurch training) or 2) the course-by-course program available for all applicants. See program details for more information.

The chart below gives an overview of how many credits you can earn based on the degree program you choose.

Accelerated Courses

If you are accepted into the Dallas campus Accelerated program, you will be able to replace core DTS courses with accelerated versions. See program details for the courses replaced in the Master of Theology (ThM) and Master of Arts (MA) programs.
