Serving with DTS since: Summer 2017
Hi, y’all! Thanks for stopping by our Team Admissions page. When I was a prospective student, I honestly didn’t know where to start. Reaching out to Team Admissions at DTS was the best decision I made! Having someone to be by my side while I processed everything was so helpful. After doing a campus visit and getting to meet with an admissions counselor, I truly felt DTS was the place for me. If you do set up a campus visit, I will be the first face you see, as I am the Team Admissions Receptionist. If you have any questions or want to know the status of your application, please email or call me! I would be happy to help in any way I can.
From the moment I stepped on campus, I really noticed the intentionality of students, staff, and faculty. I was actually meeting with someone on staff for my previous work role when they suggested I go down to Team Admissions to learn more about DTS. Ever since, I’ve been truly amazed by the continued intentionality of everyone I meet on campus, specifically the professors. You aren’t just a number or a face in a classroom; you are someone they are pouring into and want to know! Coming from a large, secular university, I didn’t know what to expect, but I’ve been blown away by how welcoming everyone is. Many times I ask myself, “I’m getting my masters here?!” It really is a special place.
It was really a whirlwind becoming a student. I visited, applied, and started a job in Admissions all in a span of 3 months. It seemed so fast, but also so right! The process was easy and I felt the Lord really leading me every step of the way. When I came into the Admissions office as a prospective student, I was unhappy in my current occupation and knew that God was calling me to something more. Some of you may feel that exact same way. If so, I encourage you to come see us at Team Admissions! We would be happy to see you and help you in anyway we can.
What are your hobbies or outside interests?
I enjoy music, watching movies, spending time with friends and hanging out with my husband, Tanner!
What made you decide to go to DTS?
I truly believe the Lord led me here. God’s confirmation and as well the opportunity to go through all of the books of the bible was a great selling point, too!
What do you do on your day off?
Most days that I have off I’m spending with family or friends. If not doing that, my husband likes to have a night in and catch up on our latest Netflix show.
What are your favorite foods?
Tex-Mex. It’s just the best. Hands down.
What is your favorite television show of all time?
What is the best part about working in the DTS admissions office?
The people! It’s truly such an encouraging working environment.
What is your favorite quote?
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” –Albus Dumbledore
What is your favorite musical artist/group/genre of music?
When I was in high school, the Jonas Brothers were my favorite! But I would say Bethel Music in Redding, CA is my current favorite.
Who is your favorite Bible character and why?
King David. I love his abandonment as a worshipper. In 2 Samuel 6, I love that he says “I am willing to look even more foolish than this,” when he responds to Michal’s disapproval in his worship for the Lord. I want to be more like that!
If you could have superhero powers, what would they be?
I think invisibility would be the coolest! You could go anywhere you want!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
This is such a hard question. If family wasn’t a factor, I would love to live somewhere that had all four seasons. I wish Texas had more of a winter and fall!
