Larry Dinkins came to Christ through Campus Crusade at the University of Oklahoma. After marrying Paula in 1978 they were accepted to OMF International for ministry in Thailand. In 1979 Larry was the assistant pastor at the Grace Bible Church in Shawnee Oklahoma which he helped plant. In 1981 Larry and Paula started their church planting ministry with leprosy patients in Central Thailand. In 1987 they transitioned into a Bible teaching ministry at the Bangkok Bible College and Seminary where Larry served as Academic Dean and Dean of the Seminary. In 1995 finished classwork for a PhD at Biola University and they moved to North Thailand to start a TEE program. Larry acted as director of the newly formed Chiang Mai Theological Seminary in 2001 before the family evacuated Thailand in 2002 due to a diagnosis of cancer in Paula’s bone marrow. As a result Larry and Paula became mobilizers and recruiters for OMF in based out of the US Center for World Missions. Paula succumb to complications from her disease in March of 2011. Larry returned to Chiang Mai for full time ministry in January of 2012 where he trained Thai nationals and other Christian workers from 9 Asian countries in narrative/oral Bible story telling. Larry resumed teaching at Chiang Mai Theological Seminary in 2015 and was installed as the interim director of CTS in 2016. In 2019-20 Larry served as the Missionary in Residence at Dallas Theological Seminary.
Larry has taught classes at Biola University, ATS Manila, MBTS Penang, and teaches seminars on Orality, Walk Thru the Bible, Perspectives, prayer counseling as well as Buddhism. Larry has authored two mission books as well as a number of magazine and journal articles. Larry has four children and eight grandchildren.
