Swidoll Tower Sublease Check-In Procedure

  • Arrive on the scheduled date and time.
The Apartment Manager has been informed of the date and approximate time that you will be arriving to check in. If you find yourself running early or late and will not arrive at that time, please contact the Apartment Manager at 214-887-1963 to inform the apartment manager of your expected arrival time. Please do not arrive before 9 a.m. or after 8 p.m. If arriving on Sunday, check-in times are 2–4 p.m. or 6–8 p.m. only.
  • Arrive to campus and park vehicle.
Swindoll Tower is located at 3900 Swiss Avenue across from the Turpin Library. Upon arrival, please park your vehicle in the visitor’s lot where the DTS Campus Police kiosk is located, or on the street if there is an available space. Please do not follow another vehicle into the Swindoll Tower parking lot; you will be allowed to park your vehicle in the parking lot after you have checked in with the Apartment Manager.
  • Contact the apartment manager and check in.
Once you have parked your vehicle, you will need to walk to the Swindoll Tower pedestrian gate and contact the apartment manager in order to be allowed inside the building. Next to the gate is a tele-entry system and you will need to scroll through the menu until you find the listing for “Apartment Manager.” You will be able to call the apartment manager to release the gate for you. When you get to the front doors, you will need to do this procedure again unless the apartment manager is there waiting to let you into the building. Note: residents have been advised that they are not to allow non-residents to follow them into the building. Please do not attempt to follow a resident through the pedestrian gate or the front doors.

Once you are inside the building, please proceed to the apartment manager’s office, which is located on the first floor to the left of the elevators. The apartment manager will check you into the arranged apartment and will give you one apartment key and one building access device. Note: there is a $50 charge for lost building access devices and a $20 charge for lost apartment keys. Once you have been checked in, you will be allowed to park your vehicle in the Swindoll Tower parking lot. You will need to go to the campus police in Horner to register your vehicle and let them know you will be staying in Swindoll Tower. They will give you a resident decal, which will need to be affixed to your windshield as directed by Campus Police. You do not need a parking hangtag, even if Campus Police says you do, but tickets will be distributed to vehicles parked in the Swindoll Tower parking lot without a valid decal!
  • Come to the Leasing and Relocation Office to fill out the necessary paperwork and pay for your stay.
The Leasing and Relocation Office is located on the first floor of the Washington Hall apartment complex at the corner of Swiss Avenue and St. Joseph Street and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. If you check-in over the weekend, please come to the Housing Office the Monday after you arrive when you have a break between classes. You will fill out a few forms and make your payment (sorry, no credit cards) and the process only takes a few minutes.
