

Director of Doctor of Educational Ministry Studies for DTS–Spanish; Associate Professor of Educational Ministries and Leadership

Dr. Perdomo was born in Honduras in a Christian home. His dad was a college literature professor and name him after the famous American mystery writer Edgar Allan Poe. Alan has served as Theology and Church History professor in several institutions in Guatemala and his native Honduras. For twenty years, he served as missionary, and as youth pastor, preacher and teacher in several local churches both in Guatemala and Honduras. He is passionate about training new generations of wise leaders through a combination of ministerial dialogue, Bible study and theological thinking which seeks to build solid bridges between doctrine and daily life. He was named “2023 Theological Personality of the Year” by the Latin American Theological Education Association (AETAL). He and his wife, Dorys, are enthusiastic about teaching the Word of God and help Christian leaders to enjoy their ministry amidst the challenges of life.
