Admission Requirements
Admission to a Post-Graduate Certificate requires the completion of a master’s degree in ministry or theology from an accredited seminary or graduate school.
Those who have earned a master’s degree or higher from Dallas Theological Seminary have a simplified admissions application. Admission requirements for those with degrees from schools other than DTS are the same as for all programs of study at the seminary.
DTS Alumni Rate and Application
Alumni who have completed a master’s degree program are eligible to receive a special alumni tuition rate (2023-24 rate: $250/hour). Alumni in good standing are eligible to use a shortened application form. Alumni can complete a maximum of two Post-Graduate Certificates at the alumni rate. Post-Graduate Certificates are intended for those who have been in the field for two or more years.
Course Modalities
Post-Graduate Certificates can be completed in-person at one of our locations, and most courses are available entirely online. Some online courses are offered in an asynchronous pre-recorded format while others require weekly video conferencing into a Dallas classroom.
Transfer of Credit
No course transfer credit or advanced standing is available for Post-Graduate Certificates. When students have already completed a required course, a course may be substituted.
Completion Requirements
To receive the Post-Graduate Certificate, students must have completed 12 semester hours of coursework with a grade point average of at least 2.0. Certificates will not be released or transcripts issued unless all financial obligations to the seminary and/or the student loan program are current. When all courses are completed, students can contact the Registrar’s Office to receive a certificate of completion.
Course Requirements
Twelve credit hours of coursework are required for each PGC. Students will complete the require courses for each program.
