Requirements for Admission

The qualifying degree for a master’s level program is a baccalaureate degree, or its equivalent, conferred by a regionally accredited college or university. Exceptions to this requirement are limited. Dallas Theological Seminary enrolls men and women who:

  1. Show evidence of saving faith in Christ
  2. Are of proven Christian character
  3. Are endowed with appropriate spiritual gifts
  4. Adhere to the Community Covenant and the following doctrines:
    1. the authority and inerrancy of Scripture
    2. the Trinity
    3. Christ’s full deity and humanity
    4. the spiritual lostness of the human race
    5. Christ’s substitutionary atonement and bodily resurrection
    6. salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone
    7. the physical return of Christ

While all degree programs at DTS are coeducational (40% of our student body is female), the seminary holds the position that Scripture assigns to men the roles of elder and senior pastor in the local church.

While students must adhere to the seven doctrines listed above to be admitted and graduate, each member of the faculty affirms his or her full agreement with the entire  doctrinal statement.
